Henry Saleh, is Punan hailed from Pandan - first Punan to be ordained as a priest (Roman Catholic). Ronald Jimmy is a Melanau.

THE FIRST PUNAN TO BECOME A DEACON
This piece of news is something that all Punan look forward to in 2020. HENRY SALLEH hails from Punan Pedan, Pandan within the Sebauh District -administratively this only Punan community longhouse at Pandan is known as Rh. Nyipa.
Henry will be the first Punan to become a Roman Catholic church priest. Interestingly, the Punan Pedan was the first Punan community to abandon the Adet
Bungan, over a decade ago. Today, more than 90 percent of them are Christians, with handful converted to Islam - mostly via marriage.
Ronald Jimmie, a Melanau from Miri, will also be ordained in the same event.
