The 25th years anniversary started with an Eucharistic celebration at 5pm at the church, followed by a grand dinner at the Dewan Suarah, Marudi. Present for the whole celebration were the Bishop of Miri Right Reverend Bishop Richard Ng, Reverend Monsignor Francis Kulleh, 19 priests, Sisters of SSFS, Fr. Michael Sia's parents, family members and over 600 parishioners from Miri, Bintulu, Limbang, Long Lama, Long San, Batu Niah, Bukit Peninjau, Lapok and Marudi Parish.
Reverend Fr. Michael Sia the second son of Mr. Thomas Sia Kie Sing and Mary Tai Chai May, born on 25th December 1966 in Miri was ordained a Deacon on 19th March 1994 at St Joseph Cathedral, Miri. On the 23rd October 1994, he was ordained a priest also at St Joseph Cathedral, Miri.
In 1994 -1998 he served at St Joseph Parish, Miri then left for his study leave, a mandarin course in Taiwan in 1998 - 1999. On his return, he again served in St Joseph Cathedral, Miri 2000 - 2005 then transferred to St Edmund Parish, Limbang in 2006 - 2009, then St Anthony Parish, Bintulu from 2010 - 2015 and to Good Shepherd's Church, Marudi from 2016 till today.
