Good Shepherd Church Marudi




On the 16th September 2017, a total of 23 secondary school students were baptised at Good Shepherd’s Church, Marudi, Baram by Rev. Fr. Michael Sia. 

On the 17th September 2017, a total of 35 secondary school students received their 1st Holy Communion at Good Shepherd’s Church, Marudi, Baram.

On the 23rd September 2017 saw a joyous celebration for Golden Jubilarian, Sr. Hilda Paim at Good Shepherd’s Church, Marudi, Baram.  Sr. Hilda, a bidayuh from Kpg Segong Singai, Bau made her 1st Profession as a religious (SSFS) St Francis Sisters of Sarawak on the 13th August, 1967.

 She was transferred to St. Bernadette’s Convent, Marudi, Baram in early February 2016.  Serving here in Marudi, she is also actively involved in the Secondary School students Confirmation Class and also the Sunday School classes for Primary School students.

A Thanksgiving Mass to celebrate her Golden Jubilee was celebrated by Rt. Rev. Bishop Richard Ng together with Marudi Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Michael Sia.  Then followed by a Thanksgiving Dinner at a local restaurant in Marudi jointly organised by the Parish Council, Ladies’ Guild and Youth Group of the GSC.


On the 24th September 2017, a total of 52 secondary school students and 6 adults received the Sacrament of Confirmation from Rt. Rev. Bishop Richard Ng at Good Shepherd’s Church, Marudi, Baram.
