Life in the Spirit Seminar (LSS in English)

Venue: St. Francis Chapel, Brighton Road
2019 Life in the Spirit Seminar was conducted by the Miri English prayer group Core Team with Rev. Fr. Andy Lee as the priest in charge. Some 200 parishioners participated in the LSS over the weekend, with some coming from Brunei and Bintulu.
A series of nine talks were given, beginning with “Praise” and ending with “Baptism of the Holy Spirit and New Life”, with each subsequent talk building on the previous one. They opened our hearts to that longed-for working of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Each talk was supported by a personal sharing from those who had attended LSS before. In his closing speech, Rev. Fr. Andy shared with us his personal testimony how he got his call to the priesthood via Mark 6:8 from one of the many LSS he had attended. With the renewal, he came to know who Jesus is in a personal way and he was ordained 17 years ago. All the talks are the outline of the structure of our life and prayer. Because of renewal, lay people rise up becoming spiritually filled Christians and discover their role in building up the Body of Christ. As life in the world is a spiritual warfare, it is very important that our way of life is living in the Holy Spirit. As St. Paul said, “It is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me”. (Galatians 2:20)
The seminar ended with some personal sharing from the participants. Thank and praise the Lord for a refreshing weekend!
